Our Sustainability Vision

Reinforcing a Sustainable Future Through Strength and Innovation

At Coen Steel, sustainability is more than an operational target; it’s central to how we build lead, and grow. As a robust, financially secure Irish business with over 135 years of heritage, our ambition is clear:

To lead the steel industry in delivering innovative, low-carbon, and responsibly sourced solutions for construction and engineering partners across Ireland and the UK.

We believe that resilience, innovation and responsibility are inseparable. Our sustainability strategy is built around three core pillars Together, these pillars form the foundation of our ESG Framework, which guides all aspects of our operations, from capital investment to recruitment and reporting.

Environmental Responsibility

Reducing emmisions, minimising waste and sourcing sustainability.

Social Responsibility

Empowering a diverse and inclusive team, engaging positively with our communities.

Governance and Ethics

Upholding the highest standards in transparency, integrity and accountability

Certifications That Demonstrate Our Commitment

Coen Steel holds multiple certifications that underpin our environmental and quality standards. This commitment is part of our legacy, as Coen Steel was the first steel stockholder in Ireland to receive a CARES accreditation in 1994. Our integrated approach means that these certifications serve as drivers for continuous improvement. Since then, we have gone on to secure and maintain multiple accreditations:
