Mulcahy Construction Ltd
Mulcahy Construction Ltd. required a reinforcement solution that would streamline installation on-site while maintaining quality and safety standards. The original design called for traditional on-site fixing, which risked extending project timelines and increasing labour intensity.
From the very first enquiry, the collaboration with Coen Steel was seamless.
Our engineering and detailing teams worked closely with Mulcahy Construction to re-detail the reinforcement cage into transportable, prefabricated sections. This approach ensured that each unit could be safely handled, transported, and installed on site with minimal disruption.
The prefabricated cages were delivered in four modular sections, each lifted into position by crane. This process eliminated the need for extensive on-site tying and significantly improved installation efficiency.
By shifting from traditional on-site fixing to prefabrication, Mulcahy Construction achieved tangible performance gains:
“From our very first enquiry, the process of working with Coens was seamless. Their team collaborated closely with us to re-detail the reinforcement cage into transportable sections, which made handling and installation on site far simpler and more efficient.
By adopting prefabricated elements instead of relying solely on traditional on-site fixing, we saved approximately four days of site work. The prefabricated sections were delivered to site in four parts, and each was lifted into position by crane without any onsite issues. This not only reduced man-hours but also ensured a smooth and safe installation process.
In addition to the time savings, we also benefited from improved safety, consistent quality, and overall efficiency. Prefabrication ultimately delivered measurable gains, making the project faster, safer, and more cost-effective.”
