Business Development Manager (North of Ireland Region)

Reports to: CEO

A leading steel distributor and manufacturer with a history of commitment to excellence and innovation are seeking a Business Development Manager for the North of Ireland Region to join the team.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in Business Development within the Construction and/or Engineering industry , with a strong understanding of the Irish marketplace. Proactive, and results-driven in nature, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Experience in managing and developing exceptional client relationships and a strong network within the Construction and/or Engineering sector arehighly desirable.

The Business Development Manager (North of Ireland Region) Territory will cover the Northern Counties within the Republic of Ireland and the Counties within Northern Ireland.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establish, manage, and maintain relationships with current and target customers across the Construction and Engineering business sectors.
  • Develop and secure new sales opportunities, through market research, networking and lead generation within the Territory.
  • Develop and implement robust Business Development Plans for key accounts within the Territory.
  • Develop a sales pipeline for the Territory, to provide visibility and ensue alignment with the Supply chain and Production teams.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the company’s value proposition, products and services to maximise sales opportunities and leverage upsell and cross sell opportunities.
  • Update on a daily basis the company’s CRM and ERP systems with enquiries, quotes and order details.
  • Provide monthly reports to senior management on business development progress and performance.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform business strategies.
  • Other Ad-hoc tasks and projects may be required from time to time.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Business Development Manager role, within the Construction and/or Engineering Sectors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • Proven track record of achieving and surpassing sales targets and driving revenue growth, with a focus on new business development.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, strong organisational abilities, and a proactive approach to delivering outstanding customer service and business development within the Territory.
